Help Spread Holiday Cheer
From Center for Community Engagement
The Center for Community Engagement is partnering with Embassy of Huntingdon Park to bring holiday joy to local nursing home residents through the Adopt a Resident Program.
We are seeking campus individuals, student organizations, offices, departments, and other groups to help make the season special for residents who may have limited family support or receive few visitors during the holidays. Participants will be matched with one or more residents and provided with a wish list of gift ideas. By donating a gift, you can help ensure that each resident feels remembered, appreciated, and cared for during the holiday season.
How It Works
- Sign up as an individual, office, department, student organization, or group.
- Receive the name and holiday wish list of an Embassy of Huntingdon Park resident from the Center for Community Engagement
- Purchase, wrap, and return the gift(s) to the Center for Community Engagement or Embassy of Huntingdon Park.
- Help spread holiday cheer and brighten a resident's season.
The Center for Community Engagment (1715 Mifflin Street) will serve as a collection site for all purchased gifts. Please return wrapped or unwrapped gifts to Center for Community Engagement by Tuesday, December 8th. If returning to Embassy of Huntingdon Park please do so by Monday, December 21st. If you are unable to wrap gifts the Center for Community Engagement is available to do so.
This simple act of kindness can have a meaningful impact, bringing comfort, connection, and joy to members of our community.
Whether your group adopts one resident or several, your participation will help make the holidays brighter for those who need it most.
To participate please complete this ADOPT A RESIDENT SIGN UP form, to learn more please contact Allie Sones at the Center for Community Engagement at sonesa@juniata.edu.
