Knowing the Good Life is Continues!
From Juniata Christian Fellowship
A common question found amongst us is “What is it to live a good life?” The plethora of “self-help” books available for purchase at various retailers attempt to address this question, but to dubious avail. “Oh, if only we had a catalog of real people who lived real lives and lived them to the highest which could inform an answer to this question...”
Well, we do!
There is a tradition of reading stories of the lives of the saints in the Christian Church, and it is a tradition to be continued here and now and with us. While each story is unique since they are about distinctive individuals in particular times and places, they each convey scenes of beauty, grace, humility, courage, and the importance of “keeping your eyes high.” As we read these accounts of those who came before us, we can draw inspiration and instruction in times when we need it most, guiding and allowing us to pursue our own good lives, true lives, beautiful lives, full of meaning and purpose.
At the moment, Thursdays at 3pm in Good 410 is a good time & place to meet, where select stories are read aloud and reflections will be welcomed.
