Juniata College students are invited to participate in Exercise/Sport Science and the Olympic Legacy

Study Abroad in Greece: Exercise/Sport Science and the Olympic Legacy

Explore Greece. Experience the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Study the science, history, and culture of sport.

Once in a lifetime opportunity. All expenses included, airline tickets, pick up and drop off at Athens airport, hotel accommodations at 3 star+ hotels, ...

Juniata College students (all POEs welcome) are invited to participate in Exercise/Sport Science and the Olympic Legacy, a global engagement study-abroad experience that combines academic learning, cultural exploration, and experiential education.

Travel to Greece to discover the historical and cultural foundations of the Olympic Games while examining the development of exercise, physical activity, sport, and athletic competition from ancient Greece to the modern era.

Students will have the opportunity to:

·     Explore historic sites connected to ancient Greek sport and the Olympic Games

·     Examine the origins and evolution of physical education, exercise, and athletic competition

·     Visit Olympia (ancient Olympic Games site, Southern Greece) and study the ancient Olympic Games

·     Look at Mount Olympus (Northern Greece), the home of the ancient Greek mythological gods

·     Experience Greek culture, history, and traditions

·     Connect exercise and sport science concepts to real-world historical and cultural contexts

·     Develop intercultural awareness through immersive travel and experiential learning

·     Learn alongside fellow Juniata students and build lasting relationships

This unique experience connects the academic study of exercise and sport with one of the world’s most influential sporting traditions. Students will study beyond the classroom, engage with Greek culture, and experience the Olympic legacy firsthand.

Come study, explore, and experience Greece!
